Our Team is growing! Welcome our new team members

The International Huntington Association (IHA) is pleased to announce that our team is growing. We are delighted to welcome Isabel Vermelho, Jarelys Lopez, and Simen Kindervaag, who bring valuable expertise in their respective fields and further strengthen our work in supporting the Huntington’s Disease community worldwide.

Growing our team means expanding our ability to create impact – not only within the HD community, but also among those who are still unaware of the disease. With fresh perspectives, diverse expertise, and a shared commitment to improving the lives of those affected by HD, we are confident that our work will continue to grow in reach and visibility, helping more people feel informed, supported, and connected.

Let’s meet our new team members:

Meet Jarelys!

While contributing across different countries and roles,  I’ve found both my professional purpose and my place within the HD community. By combining my background in Natural Sciences with graduate training in Clinical Trial Coordination and Scientific Communication, I aim to bridge the gap between science and the community. At the IHA, I focus on building relationships with industry partners to secure funding and support initiatives in underserved regions, while prioritizing meaningful connections. In every role, my motivation remains the same: improving access to a better quality of life for the HD community.

Meet Isabel!

I am a communications professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Lisbon and a Post Graduation in Journalism. I am joining the International Huntington Association as an Information and Content Coordinator, where I aim to make scientific research clearer and more accessible for the HD community. I bring creativity, dedication, and motivation to support IHA’s mission. I am deeply committed to human rights and advocating for those in need and with fewer opportunities.

Meet Simen!

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Auditing from the University of South-Eastern Norway, I am a highly social and solution-oriented professional, recognised for my efficiency and reliability. AT the IHA, I am responsible for overseeing financial operations in Norway, where our headquarters and the majority of our activities are based. I have been collaborating with the organisation for a long time, applying my expertise and work ethic in all that I do.
